Blessings upon blessings!
I always want to post a picture with my posts, but because I am usually on the computer late at night and I forget to take the pictures I want during the day, nothing happens. So I'd better just blog for the sake of blogging before I forget it. Seth had a visit with the opthamologist last week. Babies who have the laser eye surgery done for ROP will most likely be near sighted and need glasses. Well, not only is Seth NOT nearsighted, he's no where near it! The opthamologist was so amazed that a 25 weeker would have such great eyes. I can't tell you how happy we are and quite humbled as to why Seth is doing so well. What a great blessing. It's crazy to look back and think of all that we've been through. I still can't believe that this has happend to us. You think it only happens to other people, but not you. It still feels dream like. Seth is also starting to roll from his back to his tummy. When I lay him down, he'll wiggle and then roll over and then get mad because he hasn't figured out how to get back.

Here's to hoping for the best!
Ok, so I go to the ENT yesterday for a follow up with Seth. By the way, he is 10 lbs 4 oz now! We made it! Anyways, so the doctor is looking at his notes and tells me his last hearing test showed mild to moderate hearing loss. I thought it was just mild, but apparently it's in the mild to moderate range. Oh well. We are going through CT scans and EKGs right now just to get a better understanding of his hearing loss and whether it is related to anything else. I'm not sure when the talk about hearing aids will start, just more running up to Primary Children's for more procedures. I don't mind the drive. The car pretty much drives it's self up there. I just sit back and enjoy the scenery. I never realized just how close down town Salt Lake is to the mountain. I always thought it was more central to the vally, but 'tis not so. We go to the the Neonatal Follow up Clinic on Friday. Next Tuesday is the CT scan and EKG and another visit with ENT. Thursday is the Opthamologist. Sounds crazy, but Seth is doing so well. As time goes by I know we won't need to see the doctors that often. Oh, and he slept through the night last night! I'm hoping he'll return to his previous sleeping habits!
So, Angela, how's the moving going? Are you guys doing a DitY move or is the military moving you? Sarah, have you found us a place yet? Perhaps Tonnia can help, she's already got an ad out for us. Please, no creepy stalker contacts! Hahaha! Have a great day everyone!

Someday I will weigh the big One O!
We had a doctor's appointment yesterday and recieved five shots! Where do you put five shots in a guy like this! Besides his regular immunizations, Seth is getting the Synegis vaccine, which is to prevent RSV. He gets that one every month up until RSV season in over. He's really smiling a lot and is starting to talk in his own little garbled language. He'll lay there and look at you and just gurgle away! He had tubes put in his ears on December 15th to see if fluid was causing his hearing loss. Let me tell you, he came home a different man in many ways. First of all, he was extremely fussy (never heard so much noise in his life!)and stopped sleeping through the night. He also decided he didn't like his pacifier anymore, but the nipple from off his bottle would do the trick! He also went from sucking on his thumb to sucking on the other four fingers. And all of this happend overnight! Like we brought home a different baby! So, yet again we are getting use to him. Monday he had another hearing test done for follow up from placing the tubes in. I'm happy to say that his hearing has gone from Profound hearing loss to Mild hearing loss. This is really good. This means he can hear us, only it's probably real soft to him. Quiet sounds like the faucet dripping or birds singing, he can't hear. He'll probably be fitted for hearing aids here sometime in the near future. He's also not a big eater. He only takes about 2 1/2 ounces at a time. He's a sweet little guy!
Here he is in the bathtub. He enjoys it much more now. And he is getting better about being on his tummy. He's getting strong too! He'll lift his head and look around. He also loves to stand when you pick him up and hold him upright.

It's been a while
Ok, so I have not posted in weeks. Life is so crazy and now Christmas has come and gone. Where does the time go? I suppose I feel like I don't have time to sit and post because I usually end up spending a couple of hours on the computer. I need at least four more hours in a day, then I might have time for everything I want to do. Ok, so for the important things. We have received orders and we are moving to Washington DC. Yipee! I will be near my sister Sarah who lives in Virginia and short drive away from two of my brothers and their most wonderful families who are living in New York. I think it will be fun to live so close to Sarah! I can't wait to see her kids and for our kids to play together. It will hard leaving Utah, though. The longer you stay in one place, the harder it is to leave. It's been great being near Todd's family as well. We've had a lot of fun times.
Seth is up to 9lbs 6 oz now. Dane was 9 lbs 8 oz when he was born. Seth has been sick these past few days. He's had a temperature and been very cranky. He hasn't had a fever at all today, so I am hoping the worst of it has passed. Seth had tubes put in his ears on December 15th to drain any fluid that could be in his ears preventing him from hearing. So, I hope it has worked. I don't know if it has. The only thing different about him is that he crys a lot more now than he ever did. Perhaps all the noise is bothering him! Ok, so I've got the fussy little man on my lap now and standing is the only thing that seems to calm him. Happy New Year!
