Update on this adventurous pregnancy!

So today I went in for an ultrasound and saw the doctor as well. I still have placenta previa. That hasn't moved. I also still have some blood at the top of the uterus. It was also detected that my amniotic fluid is low. Tomorrow I will go to see a maternal fetal specialist. I have no idea what to expect or what they will say. I don't feel worried. I think things will be ok. I didn't bring any pictures home from this ultasound becuase it was really hard to see. When the fluid is low, it makes it harder to see. She was able to see and meaure a few things like the brain, heart, bladder, kidneys, spine. She couldn't see the stomach. And she couldn't get a good measurement of the trapped blood. Amniotic fluid is considered low when it is measuring 5 cm. Mine was 3 cm. So, we'll see what happens tomorrow. I'm still feeling him kick, though!

What's up with the obssessive compulsive?

Alex, as we all know, has obssessive compulsive issues. Some of them are challenging and annoying, but others are quite funny. Every Wednesday the trash comes. Alex, without fail, will take the trash cans to to the curb so the garbage man can pick them up. When spring starts, we also have a can for green waste only (grass, weeds, etc.) If there's stuff in there, great, he takes it to the curb. But if it's empty, he HAS to put something in it. So yesterday he puts some working gloves on and tells me he's gonna go pull some weeds. After a while he comes in and asks me if he can mow the lawn. He's so funny. I'm not so sure that he likes mowing the lawn, it's just that he's gotta put something in that trash can so he can take it to the curb. I don't think it ever dawns on him that he doesn't have to put it out that week if it's empty! He can be such a funny guy!

Staileys are just destined to have boys!

Ok, first of all, let me not alarm you, but early Sunday morning I went to the hospital because I was having some heavier bleeding and passing clots. Ok, so everything is fine. We are just watching and waiting to see what is going to happen. The baby is great and the placenta even looked great, although it is a previa. It was hard to tell where the bleeding was coming from. Perhaps it's still from the subchorionic bleed that's still in the top of my uterus. I'll be happy to say that I haven't bled today at all, so I'm really hoping that was the last of the worst of it. But, we'll just have to see. So when we were at the hospital I had another ultrasound done. (Three in over a weeks time!) And we definatley got to see this time what we are having. And yes, we are having a boy! Todd confided in me later that he really wanted another boy, even though I was hoping for a girl. I am excited about it. The boys were excited to hear it was a boy, but the girls weren't too thrilled. Oh well, I'm sure it will grow on them!

Disclaimer

I just finished up the great blog hunt and all I have to say is that you will never find anything objectable or distasteful here. I am amazed at what some people will put on their websites. (Ok, hopefully my post on my bleeding wasn't too graphic.) Anyways, besides that the blog hunt was fun looking for clues and reading some of the posts. (Fuzzy pants, or was that fussy pants.) So children are welcome to read my site!

Is it a boy or a girl?

Well, we went in for another ultrasound today. And darn that little stinker. He was all scrunched up in a little ball. His knees were touching his nose! So when we tried to take a look at his little bottom, the umbilical cord was there in the way making it hard to tell what sex the baby was. Here I am talking like it is a boy. I thought that's what I saw last week. Today the technician thought it was a girl at first, then she said maybe a boy, and then we finally decided that it was just impossible to tell right now. That's ok. I've got another ultrasound in four weeks. Maybe by then this little one will let us know what we're having!
So the blood in the top of the uterus is still there. It has not changed. But I have also been diagnosed with partial placenta previa. The placenta is lying close to the cervix. It is our hope that as the baby grows bigger and the placenta gets larger that it will move away from the cervix. So, I am on another four weeks of limited activity. I can do a little more, but still can't do too much. So I am trying out "The Great Blog Hunt" to pass the time. I also have a few books to read from a friend. So hang in their little buddy or sweetie pie!

Hang in there buddy!

Well, I've been spotting off and on all week. It seems to be heavier if I'm up more. Thursday I have an ultrasound again. Hang in there little fella'! I got to spend the weekend with Todd's parents. Todd had to work Saturday, Sunday, and Monday nights and it seemed easier just to take the kids there and spend time resting there than be home bothering Todd while he was trying to sleep. We had a great time and I hope we didn't wear Grandma and Grandpa out! It is a great blessing to have them so close.
