To Everything There is a Season

There are many people I know, friends and family, who are having babies or who are expecting.  It is kind of weird to think that I'm past my "having babies" stage in life.  Already?  No more?  It seems like it came and went so quick.  It's weird to think you'll never experience the feeling of having a child moving within you.  Sometimes when you have a bubble in your tummy, for a split second it brings back those memories.  And soon it is gone.  And sometimes you ache inside.  But it's ok, because that season in life is over and new seasons are beginning.  One of the great things in life is it's many seasons.  There's always a new one, and with it brings new things and new experiences and new found happiness and love that you've never experienced before.

"If you are helpless, He is not. If you are lost, He is not. If you don't know what to do next, He knows. It would take a miracle, you say? Well, if it takes a miracle, why not?"      -Boyd K. Packer

Size Comparison

2 lbs. ~ 13 1/2 inches long

9 lbs. 5.9 oz. ~ 21 1/4 inches long

Just thought I'd put up a post to show size comparisons between my smallest and largest babies.  If you compare my hand to the two babies, you can see.  Look at the difference between their arms and legs.  By the way, my huge baby is Dane, if you didn't know.

Happy Birthday Seth!

I'd rather be a mother than anyone on earth
Bringing up a child or two of unpretentious birth...
I'd rather tuck a little child all safe and sound in bed
than twine a chain of diamonds about my [carefree] head.
I'd rather wash a smudgy face with round, bright, baby eyes
Than paint the pageantry of fame or walk among the wise.
-- Meredith Gray

Two years ago this sweet little man was born.  I can't believe how long ago it was!  He's come a long way!  So I'm not going to post his birth story because I have already posted it, but here's the link if you care to read it again: http://christinastailey.blogspot.com/2009_02_08_archive.html

Happy Birthday Seth!  I'm glad you chose to come to our family and that you have a mission to fulfill in this life!

Growing Old Gracefully?

Ok, so I have grey hairs.  Lots of them.  More everyday I think.  It use to be just on the left side of the top of my head, but now it's on the right too.  I would part my hair on the right so you couldn't see the grays on the left.  Luckily I think they're white.  (Maybe I'll be a white headed lady.)  At first I thought I'd just let my grays come in and go "au naturel" and then I thought, heck, I'm only 32.  But, I also don't want to be at the salon every month coloring my hair.  Ok, what am I going to do?  Ok, so I'm going to try Clairol's Loving Care non permanent hair color.  We'll see how it goes.  It works for some, it doesn't work for others.  We'll see.  If it does, I figure spending about $10 a month isn't as bad as going to the salon.  If it doesn't, well maybe we'll take a second look at "au naturel".
