Seth and ice skating
We took everyone ice skating a few days back. Seth had no trouble walking on the ice skates and loved being on the ice. He always had to hold your hand, but he thought it was so fun to slip and fall down!
Fun video of Seth
This was taken about a month or so ago. I was going to post it sooner, but life got in the way. I will have to record him now, his speech has exploded!

Trek
Alex is headed out with his "family" for the weekend! Today they are suppose to hike 12 miles pulling a handcart! Go Alex. (oh, by the way, he had already caught 3 butterflies before they even set off! I wonder how many bugs he'll have by Monday?)

El Derecho
Just a few photos from the storm we had a month ago which knocked out our power for three days.
Alex was up bright and early the next morning to pick up branches. The first thing he said to me after he got back from Scout Camp after the storm hit was, "boy, I've got a lot of work to do"! If you don't know Alex, he has this obsession with the yard and the green recycle trash cans. He loves to fill all five cans for the garbage man!

White House Tour
Todd and I went with Alex and Kate and a group from church to tour the White House today. Not just anyone can go. You have to make reservations through your member of Congress and hope they approve. It took around three months for our group from start to tour date. It was cool being in the White House, but not hugely exciting. You only tour one level. It took longer going through security than the tour itself. I think the tour lasted 20 minutes. It is self guided. Nevertheless, it was neat to say I have actually been inside. No pictures were allowed to be taken inside or they would confiscate your phone or camera. The other thing I noticed is that the White House really doesn't seem all that big up close. I think pictures make it look way larger. We had a nice time taking the Metro down and eating in Chinatown afterwards. The place we ate was definitely not the best Chinese, but perhaps some day we shall find a better place to eat downtown.
